- in the winter time from December to February the weather is getting cold but this is also why the area is becoming home of thousands and hundreds of thousands of Geese, Ducks and Hooper Swans. The most impressive are probably the Red--breasted Geese. Most of the years more than 90% of the world population comes in Dobrogea to winter. This is the time when flocks of 20.000 can be spotted. But this is not all of it because a trip into the Danube Delta with a floating hotel is more than rewarding as dozens of White-tailed Eagles are hanging around the lakes catching Coots and other water fowl and the elusive Spotted Eagle comes for wintering here.
